The Energy University courses have been submitted for approval to specific professional associations and organisations who review the content and feel the knowledge is appropriate for their membership to gain credit for continuing education beyond their degree programs.
The following groups have either assigned credits or approved of our program to fulfill continuing education credits requirements. Please click on the links to review these organisations and determine how they wish to receive a record of course completions.
Approving Organisations
FIRE, the Italian Federation for the Rational use of Energy, is a non-profit association that promotes energy efficiency, supporting energy managers, ESCOs and other companies dealing with energy.
Besides the activities directed to its nearly 500 members, FIRE operates since 1992 under an implementing agreement with the Ministry of Economic Development to manage the Italian energy manager network. In order to promote energy efficiency FIRE cooperates and deals with ministries, the energy authority and other public bodies, energy technology and service companies, consultants, medium and large consumers, universities and associations to promote best practices and improve the legislation.

The Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP) is a global non-profit, specialist change agent aiming to catalyse the market for renewable energy and energy efficiency, with a primary focus on emerging markets and developing countries.
The Partnership was established alongside the 2002 World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg. It is now comprised of 300 partners including 46 governments as well as a range of private companies and international organisations, and is headquartered in Vienna, Austria.

The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is a Washington, D.C.- based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to a prosperous and sustainable future through cost-efficient and energy-saving green buildings. USGBC works toward its mission of market transformation through its LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) green building certification program, robust educational offerings, a nationwide network of chapters and affiliates, the annual Greenbuild International Conference & Expo, and advocacy in support of public policy that encourages and enables green buildings and communities.

The Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE), a global organization based in the UK, received its Royal Charter in 1976. It is the professional body that promotes the career of building services engineers by accrediting courses of study in further and higher education, by approving workbased training programmes and providing routes to full professional Registration and Membership, including Chartered Engineer, Incorporated Engineer and Engineering Technician.

The American Council On Renewable Energy (ACORE), a 501(c)(3) membership non-profit organization headquartered in Washington, DC, is dedicated to bringing renewable energy into the mainstream of the U.S. economy and lifestyle through research and communications programs and membership committees. ACORE’s membership works in all sectors of the renewable energy industries including wind power, solar energy, geothermal energy, hydropower, ocean energy, biomass, biofuels, and waste energy.

AFE, the Association for Facilities Engineering, is a professional organization of 5,000 members. They bring together professionals who ensure the optimal operation of plants, grounds and offices at Fortune 500 manufacturers, universities, medical centers, government agencies and innovative small firms from around the world. The CPD Certification Service was established in the UK as an independent organisation operating across all market sectors to be complementary to the CPD policies of professional and academic institutions. As the undertaking of continuing professional and personal development has developed internationally, so has demand for formal CPD certification of further learning activities increased from organisations throughout both private and public sectors.

The Industry Automation Accreditation Training (IAAT) project is launched by the Education Management Information Center of Ministry of Education. The IAAT project aims to improve the quantity and quality of industry automation talents in China to satisfy the increasing market needs, and is dedicated to develop talents with creative abilities and improve their key competencies.

The Building Performance Institute, Inc. (BPI) is a national standards development and credentialing organization for residential energy efficiency retrofit work. BPI offers professional certification examinations on the assessment and upgrade of residential buildings ¨C both single-family and multifamily. As an independent, not-for-profit organization, we bring together leading building science experts from across North America to develop our standards using a consensus-based methodology.

FENITEL is the Spanish National Federation of Telecommunications Installers and currently encompasses more than 1,000 installation companies. FENITEL is a founding partner of the European organization ETSA (European Telecommunication Services Association), umbrella-like state associations FENITEL in Europe. The Federation in 2008 was elected the organization that presides over the European association. As a member of ETSA, FENITEL is involved in European standards CENELEC and ETSI.

IFMA is the largest and most widely recognized professional association for facility management‚ supporting approximately 18‚000 members. The Association's members are represented in 125 chapters‚ 15 councils and one Special Interest Group (SIG)‚ in 56 countries worldwide. BICSI is a professional association supporting the information technology systems (ITS) industry. BICSI serves more than 23,000 ITS professionals, including designers, installers and technicians. These individuals provide the fundamental infrastructure for telecommunications, audio/video, life safety and automation systems. Through courses, conferences, publications and professional registration programs, BICSI staff and volunteers assist ITS professionals in delivering critical products and services, and offer opportunities for continual improvement and enhanced professional stature.

State Engineering Boards
The following states will honor Professional Development Hours (PDH’s) required toward the maintenance of their state board licenses. State boards will be “satisfied when sponsoring organizations conduct courses which will enhance and improve a licensee’s professional skills and meet the criteria” of their guidelines. It is up to the engineer to verify the applicability of the course and to meet the conditions of their state board rules. Click on the state to access their web page for complete details.
