Shareholders invited to Architect@Work trade show

On December 3, 2010, Schneider Electric invited individual shareholders to visit the Architect@Work trade show, during which the Group displayed its new range of Unica switches and sockets.

Nicolas Schoesetters, Sales Manager, Specifiers at Schneider Electric France, presented the interior design solutions for switches and sockets to shareholders at the prestigious exhibition Architect@Work at the Grande Halle de la Villette in Paris. He described the creative process that eventually led to the Unica line, from identifying trends with design firms to the development of a marketing plan focused on residential market specifiers.

The presentation ended with a demonstration of an iPhone app specially designed for Unica’s rollout that allows users to both choose their equipment and contact the nearest Schneider Electric-approved electrician for quick installation.

Afterwards, the shareholders had an opportunity to meet with Frédéric Beuvry, Senior Vice President Industrial Design and Ergonomy, who explained his strategy for building a specific, sharply focused brand design for Schneider Electric that expresses the Group’s values of reliability, simplicity and innovation.

The third edition of Architect@Work France was held on December 2 and 3 at Paris’ Grande Halle de la Villette. A unique event among design trade shows, Architect@Work offers a distinctive ambiance in which the aisles are transformed into lounge areas and the booths resemble walk-through art gallery exhibits. The show is also innovative in its content, as participating manufacturers are only allowed to present their very latest products.

Presenting for the first time, Schneider Electric’s teams were able to make valuable contacts with key decorators, including architects, interior designers, urban designers, landscape architects, installers, design and engineering firms, economists and building engineers.
