                                    Carbon Assessment

Schneider Electric conducted its first carbon assessment in 2007 to measure and reduce its environmental assessment and that of its partners.

                                    Schneider Electric’s commitment
Despite a low energy consumption for its industrial processes, Schneider Electric adopts a proactive approach which drove it to conduct a carbon assessment* in 2007 for its emissions and those of its partners (suppliers and logistics providers).

                                    Means
For carbon assessment it starts with a departure photo which allows direct and indirect emissions to be assessed.

                                    • To prioritise the weight of these emissions according to:
activities and types of products sold by the Group, different emission points (energy consumption by sites, purchases, logistics, etc.).
                                    • To appreciate its dependence on the use of fossil fuels.
                                    • To propose action plans to reduce these emissions to reduce the carbon content in all sectors studied, to reduce its economic vulnerability.
