Employee training

Schneider Electric’s objective is to develop knowledge and skills to support our strategic direction towards energy management and solutions.

The goal is to have 2,000 employees certified at the end of 2011, thanks to a structured university curriculum with on-line & classroom training courses, tool kits, communities, and coaching programs that facilitate knowledge-sharing and the implementation of best practices.

Employees can augment their skill sets by obtaining education which supports their career development, boosting their value within the company. Learning paths have been developed for managers, sales people, marketers and project managers to further develop these key roles to meet the evolving needs of our customers. Each participant's educational progress is tracked and their learning path is managed, leading to a certification in his or her area of study.

This process began in 2009 with over 2500 individual courses being completed, while the learning paths were being developed. On January 1st 2010 the measure was restarted, to track the number of people who complete a specific learning path and achieve a certification.

By leveraging knowledge and expertise through education, exchange, and thought leadership, Schneider Electric will be recognised as the global specialist in energy management.
