Occupational accidents

10% annual decrease in the frequency rate of occupational accidents

43% decrease in the frequency rate of occupational accidents at the end of the first quarter of 2011, corresponding to an occupational accident frequency rate of 2.56.

The frequency rate is the number of occupational accidents resulting in absence from work per million working hours; this is an international benchmark that allows Schneider Electric to compare itself with the best. The performance calculated monthly by all the entities in the Group concerns Schneider Electric's employees and temporary workers under Schneider Electric's managerial responsibility.

Consistent with its principles of responsibility, work-related risk prevention is one of Schneider Electric's priorities. The challenge is to develop a culture and a uniform safety management system throughout all the entities in the Group, whilst at the same time adapting the global policy to local contexts and capitalising on the best practices and initiatives.

Schneider Electric aims to be one of the companies with the lowest occupational accident frequency rate and become an international benchmark.
