September/October 2007: In Brussels, Schneider Electric – partner of the International Polar Foundation – presents the first Zero Emission scientific research centre, Princess Elisabeth Antarctica.

In partnership with the IPF, Schneider Electric presents the first Zero Emission scientific research station – Princess Elisabeth Antarctica – before its installation in the Antarctic.
Equipped in particular with Schneider Electric products and solutions, the station uses exclusively renewable energy: solar energy – via photovoltaic panels – or wind energy. These products avoid all greenhouse gas and CO² emissions.
It is an unprecedented initiative, fully in line with the group’s environmental responsibility, its concern for the planet and the absolute necessity to reduce CO² emissions.
