Schneider Electric uses SQuORING Technologies software quality control and monitoring tools to increase the performance of its solutions offering

Paris (France), March 29, 2012 – Schneider Electric is using SQuORING Technologies and its SQuORE platform to control the quality and maintainability of its software, thus ensuring its customers have safe, reliable and efficient software.

The SQuORE platform¹ is a tool developed by SQuORING Technologies’ R&D teams for assessing and optimizing the quality of software. This collaborative decision analysis tool gives all those involved in a project "real time" access to the information they need according to their role in the project, via an intuitive, easy to use interface.

"The integrated energy and process management software that we develop for our various markets² is increasingly complex. So, to ensure our customers have safe, reliable and effective solutions, our R&D teams must look beyond conventional approaches and incorporate the dual objective of quality control and efficiency ", explains Bruno Bec, Software Efficiency Manager, Schneider Electric. "We have engaged an innovative young company, SQuORING Technologies. It is the only company capable of integrating the quality model and high-performance concepts devised by our teams, and making them more accessible for developers."

The SQuORE dashboard gives a quick overview of the key indicators together with a summary. It is presented in a format similar to the widely recognized energy performance label, with a rating from A to G.
"It is a collaborative tool, in other words it is intended for both developers and managers, and also decision-makers. Everyone finds the level of information and detail that they need", says Patrick Artola, CEO of SQuORING Technologies. “The ease of use and fully automated dynamic measurement carried out by the SQuORE platform enables you to take a fresh look at software quality. Teams of differing sizes, cultures and maturity, developing different sorts of products, can all use SQuORE and increase their efficiency on a day to day basis."

The platform was initially trialed in Sweden, Germany, the US and France from late 2010 onwards, under the supervision of the Schneider Electric Strategy and Innovation Department. The positive reactions of the teams who were trained on it demonstrated the added value of using SQuORE not only in terms of the quality and performance of the software developed, but also the efficiency of their work. It is now in the process of being rolled out to all 3000 staff in Schneider Electric’s software R&D teams. Knowledge of how to use the tool is being passed on directly in their respective entities by the original teams who were trained on its use. It is estimated that the full implementation will take two years.
