                  > Cable ladders
We delivered our first — and the world’s first — cable ladder just over 75 years ago. And, if need be, we can still add to it. We carry over 5,000 items in our product range. Just around 100 are ladders and trays. The remainder is made up to meet every possible requirement. And some pretty impossible ones, too.
Because if there is one thing we know, it’s that there is always going to be a next time. Whether it’s a matter of minor additions or major changes, new and old have to fit together.
Hand in glove – even in 15 years’ time

              > Cable trays
With over 70 years’ experience supplying cable ladders, cable trays and lighting trunking, it was only logical to start integrating the system in the ceiling. You effectively conceal ventilation, pipework and load-bearing structural components, while putting the wiring – for power, telecommunications and computers –in the ceiling. The noise level is reduced and the gables can be used for signage in shops. Every aspect is standardized – except the aesthetics. You choose the colour, and the type of baffles, wire baskets or metal cartridges.

              > Mesh trays
Defem is the Wire Tray and U-bar System for high specifications in Data/Telecom, Food Industry, Machine Building and other demanding applications. Since its introduction in 1991, it has grown quickly and is now used by installers in more than 40 countries.

Since march 2004, Defem is a part of the leading Scandinavian Cable Support System manufacturer AB Wibe.

              The right product
All of us who work in the construction industry share a common ambition – reduced costs.
As regards cable support, this revolves around having the right product in the right place.

The right product has the right surface treatment. This is a question of not choosing hot
dip galvanized (C3 – C4) when pre-galvanized (C2) is sufficient. There are even traditional C3 environments where C2 now gives perfectly adequate protection. Modern, heated ice halls are an example here. In very aggressive environments (C5), our thermoplastic coated cable ladders are an attractive choice.

The right product has accessories that reduce purchase costs, decrease the holding of stocks and promote easy and rapid fitting. One example here is the 50i pre-galvanized
cantilever arm with its hole pattern that allows wide cantilever arms to be used for narrow
ladders, very useful where columns are involved. The hole pattern also fits our wire trays. Others are the new Vertical piece 2Fi, the new round bar fixings, Joints 21 and B52...

The right product is neutral as regards EMC and is approved for equipotential bonding.

              History

We delivered our first — and the world’s first — cable ladder just over 75 years ago. It all started when Mr Wikstrand and Mr Berg, factory owners, realised that a ladder could just as well be horizontal as vertical. That it could just as easily carry the weight of cabling as people. Today, we are the leading supplier of ladders and trays. That may not be significant by it self, but it gives you a number of major benefits. We offer an extremely wide range of both products and skills. We are wherever you are. And installation engineers always know what they are dealing with because our systems are the de facto standard.
